THIS MESSAGE IS FOR EVERYONE: Pesach (Passover) is not for everyone.

If someone asked me, “Should I do Pesach (Passover)?” I would say, “Do you understand YHVH’s Pesach, and do you know what He requires of you to keep it Holy? Pesach is not something you do, but it is something that you Shamar (to keep, guard, uphold, stand over as a watchman). If you don’t keep it Holy, you are then guilty of treating YHVH’s Pesach, a sacred Moed (Holy Time), with violent disrespect. Pesach is a Holy-Time (Moed) that you Shamar (keep); it is not a Holiday you celebrate however you desire.

Are you an Israelite? Are you a Foreigner (Nekar) or a stranger (Ger) who dwells amongst or sojourns with an Israelite? If you are a foreigner (Nekar), you may not partake. The root word of Nekar is Nakar which points to a person who rejects YHVH and does not recognize, respect, or reveres His Commandments. This type of person does not fear YHVH, rejects YHVH’s Commandments, and is outside of the Covenant. Whereby a foreigner living amongst an Israelite is someone who is journeying with an Israelite, learning from them and in community with Israelites. There is a difference, and the Torah clearly states that no foreigner (Nekar) can partake in Pesach. There is only an open invitation to the Stranger, the Soujerner (Ger) living amongst an Israelite, which is still conditional. YHVH, the God of the Israelites, invites a Stranger/Sojourner (Ger) living amongst Israelites but rejects the foreigner (Nekar) completely.

When I see the Blood I will Pass Over you…the death blow will not strike you (Exodus 12:13)

NIGHT OF DEATH: PESACH is an all night Vigil. This night is a solemn observance (shimmur) for ALL the Sons of Israel throughout ALL of OUR generations forever. The Word for solemn observance is shimmur, which means: watching, a vigil, being a watchman standing guard.  Vigil means – the act of keeping awake at times when sleep is customary; also: a period of wakefulness, a time to wakeup.  The Word Shimmur is tied to The Word Shamar which means: to keep, follow, watch, preserve.  The first time it was used was in the garden when YHVH (GOD) commanded Adam to keep(Shamar) the garden, to cultivate it.  The next time we see The Word emerge is when YHVH commands Abraham to Shamar His Covenant.  As the Sons of Israel, we are the keepers of the Covenant, the Watchmen.  PESACH is a reminder to the Sons of Israel that we are to Keep the Words of YHVH (His Torah); it is a matter of life (obedience) and death (disobedience).

When the Israelites participated in YHVH’s Pesach, specific instructions were given, and certain conditions needed to be met (Exodus 12). The instructions and requirements for YHVH’s Pesach are found throughout the Torah and the Prophets and make up the instructions and conditions that apply to every one of YHVH’s Passovers generation after generation (forever). If you don’t know these instructions and requirements, then you can’t keep YHVH’s Pesach Holy, and you are now guilty of desecrating and defiling it.

Israelites Shama (Hear, Listen and Do) the Commandments of YHVH (God) as ordered by-way-of Moshe (The Torah), this is life. The overarching Truth of YHVH’s Pesach points to life and death, which is the overall culmination of the Torah, and YHVH’s desire is that you choose life and not death (Deuteronomy 30). Those who do according to YHVH’s commandments live, and those who do not die. The same principle applied to Adam and Eve in the garden, and their disobedience led to death.

Obedience is better than sacrifice as an Israelite or a Stranger/Sojourner (Ger) both must be careful to do all that YHVH (God) commands them through Moshe, then they will have life (live). Additionally, if the foreigner (Nekar) who rejects YHVH has a change of heart and the Nekar comes to a place where he joins himself to YHVH and begins to sojourn with Israelites. If the Nekar begins to keep YHVH’s Commandments, when death comes in and it will, even the Nekar can be passed over (Pesach). Pesach is for Israelites, and a Stranger/Sojourner (Ger) who wants to enter into Covenant with YHVH (GOD) ONLY Israelites and a Stranger/Sojourner (Ger) may partake in YHVH’s Pesach. Again, Pesach/Passover is a conditional Holy Day; I advise everyone to sit this one out if you are not sure where exactly you stand. Over the next year, commit to learning what is necessary to come into Covenant with YHVH, and you should look forward to participating next year when you have a better understanding of what is required of you.

You don’t have YHVH’s Spirit of Holiness or the Spirit of Truth if you don’t keep The Torah and you are deceived “I will put my Spirit inside you and cause you to live by my laws, respect my rulings and obey them. Ezekiel 36:22-32

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND YHVH (GOD) IS ONLY SPEAKING TO ISRAELITES and yes there is an open invitation for the Stranger (Ger) to become part of the Nation by submitting to His Torah and Keeping the Covenant (Commandments). Pesach is Tied to Life and Death: it is a Call to Obedience and a call to enter into Covenant.   This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the YHVH your God, listen to His voice, and hold fast to Him” (Deuteronomy 30:15-20).
