In the beginning, God sets the stage for the opening act to take place. Before God presents the TWO TREES, He prepares everything in advance for the man, ADAM. Everything about your life has been prepared in advance just like Adam. Through your own choices, you will travel your own path, and that path either leads to LIFE or to DEATH.
The God has just brought order to chaos; light into darkness. Like the parting of the seas in Exodus, God has separated the waters above from the waters below. In plain sight for those who have eyes to see, let them see. Under a dome sky, a clear hard, impenetrable looking glass, a vast blue sea is suspended above us as a living testimony to God’s Word. Everything had an intended purpose and order was established according to The Word of YHVH (GOD).
God sets a test before Adam and Eve in the garden, and they failed. He sets before them two trees, “In the middle of the garden where the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil(TWO TREES) (Genesis 2:9). They disobeyed God and chose the wrong tree, the false identity. God is just and He has set the same two trees in front of you. We are all given the choice to choose just like our predecessors had a chance to choose.
Over and over again throughout Scripture, God presents us with a test to measure our hearts to see if we will Hear, Listen and Obey His commandments. Before all men are two trees, two gates, two paths, and we will all be tested continually. “God is testing you to find out if you love Him (YHVH) your God with all your heart and with all your soul” (Deuteronomy 13:3, NIV). We must remember that our identity is in the YHVH (GOD).
In Genesis, we see that YHVH (GOD) test men’s hearts to see if they will obey Him; if they will follow His commands. Is their identity in Him, manifested in obedience? God tested Abraham, and said to him, “Take now your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I will tell you”(Genesis 22:1).
God is always asking us, “Do you love me?” Do you love me more than the things that I have blessed you with? Do you love me more than your possessions? In your heart of hearts do you trust me above all else? These questions can only be answered in works(our actions), which manifest in our choices; our true heart emerges and is displayed not just for God to see but for it to be revealed to us. Just as God restates to Isaac, “All nations on earth will be blessed because Abraham obeyed me, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes and My laws”(Genesis 26:4-5, NIV). The most important thing that God wants to know is, Do you Love YHVH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength? If you do will you Obey me and Keep My commandments?
16 This is what the YHVH says:
“Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths,
ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you will find rest for your souls.
But you said, “We will not walk in it.”
17 I appointed watchmen over you and said,
“Listen to the sound of the trumpet!”
But you said, “We will not listen.”
They bring Life, Balance, and Order to Everything.
